electromagnetic orchestra
audio-performance / installation 2009
what would happen if the string section in an
orchestra were to be replaced by standard lamps?
what would it sound like, if an entire orchestra were
to no longer consist of instruments, but electrical goods?
in the performative, audio-installation, "electromagnetic
orchestra", the architecture of an orchestra is emulated by
electrical equipment (monitors, vacuum cleaners and standard
lamps). an integrated detector in the installation renders audible
the electromagnetic waves emitted by devices.
a “noise-like”, acoustic and interactive composition is created,
which provides us with a mere inkling of the forms and spaces
of the waves that surround us.
